Mr. Bratin Kumar Dey Ms. Anjana Banerjee Mr. Subhankar Banerjee ….for the petitioners Affidavit of service filed in Court today is taken on record. In spite of service none appears for the respondents. The petitioners claim to be the owner of Plot Nos.302, 450 and 724 within Mouza-Kumardini in the District of Paschim Bardhaman. The petitioners state that the authorities of Eastern Coalfields Limited are carrying on mining activities without taking any steps for acquiring the land of the petitioners. Mr. Dey, learned advocate appearing for the petitioners submits that no compensation has also been paid to the petitioners. The petitioners submitted a representation before the respondent authorities which is annexed at page 28 of the writ petition. The learned advocate appearing for the petitioners submits that a direction be passed upon the respondent authorities to communicate their decision on the said representation to the petitioners expeditiously. 2 Without entering into the claim made by the petitioner in the said representation WPA 3547 of 2026 stands disposed of by directing the Area Manager (HR), Bankola Area, Eastern Coalfields Limited, Bankola Area, to consider the representation of the petitioners, which is annexed at page 28 of the writ petition and to dispose of the same by passing a reasoned order after affording an opportunity of hearing to the petitioners or their authorised representative and communicate the reasoned order to the petitioners immediately thereafter and the entire exercise shall be completed as expeditiously as possible but positively within a period of 6 weeks from the date of receipt of a server copy of this order along with a copy of the representation, which is annexed at page 28 of the writ petition. There will be no order as to costs. All parties shall act on the server copy of this order duly downloaded from the official website of this Court. (Hiranmay Bhattacharyya, J.)
