JUSTICE R DEVDAS ORAL ORDER Learned High Court Government Pleader is directed to take notice for all the respondents. 2. It is the contention of the petitioner that he was granted 3.20 acres of land in Sy.No.83 of Bilagumba Village, Ramanagara Taluk, Ramanagara District, now Bengaluru South District, in the year 1981-82. It is contented that Annexure-B is the Saguvali Chit issued by the competent authority. It is contended that the name of the petitioner was entered in the revenue records in terms of MR No.80/1982-83 as found at Annexure-E. However after computerization the name of the petitioner has been discontinued from the computerized RTC. Therefore the prayer in the writ petition is to issue a writ of mandamus directing the respondent authorities to continue the - 4 - HC-KAR NC: 2026:KHC:19275 WP No. 904 of 2026 revenue entries in the name of petitioner in the computerized RTC. 3. After hearing the learned counsel for the petitioner, the learned High Court Government Pleader and on perusing the petition papers, this Court finds from the material on record that the name of the petitioner was earlier entered in the land revenue records. However, if the Tahsildar is of the opinion that the petitioner has not been granted lands, nevertheless, it is the duty of the Tahsildar to secure the original grant records, Saguvali Chit issue register and other contemporaneous records to satisfy himself regarding the grant made in favour of the petitioner. Moreover, there is no reason why the name of the petitioner which was earlier entered in the land revenue records has not been continued after computerization, the Tahsildar is duty bound to look into all these aspects and pass necessary orders. - 5 - HC-KAR NC: 2026:KHC:19275 WP No. 904 of 2026 4. Consequently, this writ petition stands disposed of with a specific direction to respondent No.3 - Tahsildar, Ramanagara Taluk to consider the representation given by the petitioner and in the light of the observations made hereinabove, verify the original records in the presence of the petitioner and pass necessary orders to enter the name petitioner in the computerized RTC and land revenue records as expeditiously as possible and at any rate within a period of two months from the date of receipt of copy of this order.
