The petitioner is a retired teacher of a DA getting school. She claims that certain amount is due and payable to her on account of arrear salary under the post-graduate scale. 2. According to the petitioner, the amount which is due and payable to her is Rs. 7,60,835/-. The school calculated the dues of the petitioner and found that Rs. 1,79,070/- was due and payable to her. Out of the aforesaid dues, part payment has been made and the school admits that currently Rs. 26,804/- is due and payable to her. 3. It appears that there is a discrepancy in between the two figures; one quoted by the petitioner and the other by the school. The quantum of arrear salary payable to the petitioner is required to be adjudicated by the District Inspector of Schools. 4. None represents the State respondents. Page 2 5. In view of the above, the instant writ petition stands disposed of by directing the District Inspector of Schools, Kolkata to take into consideration the petitioner’s prayer for grant of arrear salary in the post-graduate scale. 6. A decision shall be taken by the aforesaid respondent after affording reasonable opportunity of hearing to the petitioner, the school authority and any other necessary party at the earliest but positively within a period of three months from the date of communication of this order. 7. If any amount is found due and payable, then the same shall be disbursed in favour of the petitioner without any further delay. 8. Learned advocate for the petitioner is directed to forward the copies of the supporting documents with a forwarding letter to the concerned District Inspector of Schools for arriving at a decision in the matter. 9. The writ petition stands disposed of. 10. Urgent photostat certified copy of this order, if applied for, be supplied to the parties upon compliance of all requisite formalities. (Amrita Sinha, J.)
