Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the statement of petitioner is yet to be recorded under Section 183 of the BNSS. The money trail has not been traced. There has not been effective progress in investigation of the case. It appears from the report submitted by the State that Sections 338/319(2) of the BNS have been added. However, all the accused persons are yet to be arrested. The report does not indicate much progress in investigation. In view of the nature of the offence and its widespread ramification, this Court is inclined to hold that the investigation be monitored by the Commissioner of Police, Barrackpore Police Commissionerate who shall ensure effective and fruitful investigation and take necessary steps for taking the same to its logical conclusion in accordance with law. The writ petition is disposed of. There shall, however, be no order as to costs. Since no affidavit is invited, the allegations contained in the writ petition are deemed not to have been admitted.
