The grievance of the petitioner is directed against non-supply of an electricity connection. It is submitted on behalf of the petitioner that despite having complied with the prescribed formalities, the respondent-WBSEDCL has failed to provide any electricity connection. On behalf of WBSEDCL, a Report in the form of Affidavit has been filed. It appears from the said Report that there are private civil disputes between the petitioner and the private respondents. However, WBSEDCL has no objection in providing the above connection to the premises of the petitioner subject to police assistance.
2 On behalf of private respondent, it is submitted that no such electricity connection can be granted over the land of the private respondent. In view of the contentions made on behalf of the parties, WPA 26680 of 2025 stands
disposed of by directing the concerned District Magistrate in terms of Works of Licensees Rule, 2006 having jurisdiction to adjudicate upon how the grievance of the petitioner for a separate electricity connection. In carrying out any such exercise, the concerned District Magistrate
directed to give notice to the private respondent as well as the WBSEDCL. The above exercise would be completed within eight weeks from the date of communication of this order.
