Advocate (Civil) ORDER The writ petition is filed seeking a direction to the respondents to cancel the classification of the petitioner's assigned land as “Government Poramboke” and restore the patta in the name of the petitioner. 2.It is the case of the petitioner that the property comprised in Survey No.46/17, measuring an extent of 0.71.0 hectares, situated at Mootampatti Revenue Village, Kulathur Taluk, Pudukkottai District was originally assigned to the petitioner by order dated 15.03.2007. However, in the latest computerised revenue records, the said land has been wrongly classified as “Government Poramboke”. Therefore, the petitioner submitted a representation before the official respondents seeking cancellation of the erroneous classification and restoration of the patta in her name. Since the same has not been considered, the petitioner has come before this Court. 3.The learned Government Advocate appearing for the respondents would submit that the assignment order issued in favour 2/5 https://www.mhc.tn.gov.in/judis W.P(MD)No.23243 of 2026 of the petitioner has not been cancelled and, therefore, the respondents are ready to consider the request of the petitioner for issuance of revenue patta in her name. He would submit that since the said property is classified as “Kalar Bhomi” in the revenue records, necessary orders of the Commissioner of Land Administration are required for change of classification of the land. 4.The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner, by relying upon the certificate issued by the third respondent in his proceedings in Mu.Mu.7816/2018/A5 dated 14.09.2018, would contend that, as per the said certificate, the subject property has been classified as “Government Poramboke – Tharisu”. 5.Taking into consideration the submissions made by the learned Government Advocate that the assignment order issued in favour of the petitioner has not been cancelled and that the respondents are ready to consider the request of the petitioner for issuance of revenue patta, this Court directs the second respondent/Revenue Divisional Officer to consider the representation of the petitioner dated 23.07.2026 and pass appropriate orders on its own merits, within a period of sixteen weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
