ORDER The present petition has been filed by accused No.3 in Crime No.263 of 2016 on the file of the first respondent police seeking to quash the F.I.R wherein the petitioner and two others are alleged to have committed the offence under Sections 120B, 420, 465, 467, 468, 294(b) and 506(i) of IPC. 2.The case was referred to Mediation by an order dated 29.06.2026. Apart from A3, A1 and A2 have also appeared in the Mediation and it has been settled between the parties. Clause 6 of the settlement agreement is extracted as follows:
“6.The following settlement has been arrived at between the parties hereto: A.Both parties are agreed to settle the matter amicably. B.Defacto complainant side agreed to receive an amount of Rs.6,50,000/- from accused Nos.1 and 2 in Crime No.263 of 2016 within the period of six months from today with two instalments. 1st instalment before 31st October 2026 and 2nd instalment 31st January 2027. Above settlement also agreed by the petitioner side. The above settlement will be settled by the petitioner side through bank transaction. On receipt of the settlement amount, defacto complainant would cancelled the deed No.4707/2012. C.By signing this Agreement the parties hereto state that they have no further claims or demands against each other with respect to Crl.OP(MD).No.6460/2026 and all disputes and 2/4 https://www.mhc.tn.gov.in/judis
differences in this regard have been amicably settled by the parties hereto through the process of Conciliation/Mediation.” 3.In view of the settlement reached between the parties, the F.I.R in Crime No.263 of 2016 on the file of the first respondent police stands quashed not only as against the petitioner, but also as against the other accused persons.
This Criminal Original Petition stands allowed. Consequently, connected miscellaneous petition is closed.
