Pleader 1/5 https://www.mhc.tn.gov.in/judis W.P(MD)No.23323 of 2026 ORDER The writ petition is filed seeking a direction to the first respondent to consider the petitioner's representation dated 29.06.2026, seeking rectification of the error that occurred in the UDR proceedings relating to the land comprised in Survey No.622/2 situated at Velvarkottai Village, Vedasandur Taluk, Dindigul District. 2.Heard the arguments of Mr.W.Cleetus, learned counsel for the petitioner, and Mrs.K.Porkodi, learned Special Government Pleader for the respondents. By consent, this writ petition is taken up for final disposal at the admission stage itself. 3.According to the petitioner, he is entitled to two cents of the property comprised in the above-mentioned survey number by virtue of a sale deed bearing Document No.5710 of 2013. However, during the UDR proceedings, the extent of land belonging to the petitioner has been wrongly omitted. Hence, the petitioner submitted a representation before the first respondent seeking correction of the UDR register. Since the same has not been considered, the petitioner has come before this Court. 2/5 https://www.mhc.tn.gov.in/judis W.P(MD)No.23323 of 2026 4.The learned Special Government Pleader appearing for the respondents would submit that the competent authority to consider the request of the petitioner is the District Revenue Officer, who has not been impleaded as a party to the writ petition. She would further submit that the representation of the petitioner will be considered by the competent authority in accordance with law. 5.In the light of the above submission, the first respondent is directed to forward the representation of the petitioner dated 29.06.2026 to the District Revenue Officer, Dindigul District, within a period of two weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. The said authority shall consider the same and pass final orders on its own merits, after affording a reasonable opportunity of hearing to the petitioner and other interested parties, within a period of twelve weeks thereafter. 6.With the above directions, this writ petition stands disposed of.
