Mr. Sushil Vashistha, Standing Counsel, for the State.
(2) Petitioner retired from the post of Personal Assistant from the O/o Inspector General, Registration on 28.2.2023. By means of this writ petition, petitioner has sought the following relief:
“i. issue a writ, order or direction in the nature of mandamus commanding the respondent to pay the pension and gratuity and commutation (payment) forthwith along with penal interest at the rate of 18% per annum from March 2023.”
(3) Learned State Counsel has produced in Court written instructions dated 10.12.2025, received from the O/o Additional Director, Treasury, Pension and Entitlement, which is taken on record. Based on those instructions, State Counsel submits that pension papers received from the O/o Inspector General, Registration were returned by Directorate of pension with certain observations. He submits that present status regarding pension of the petitioner is not known.
(4) Having regard to the fact that petitioner retired in 2023, writ petition is
disposed of with a direction to Inspector General, Registration to resubmit pension papers of the petitioner, after removing all objections as pointed out by Directorate of Pension, within three weeks from the date

order. If anything is to be done by the petitioner, then petitioner shall also be informed within the same time so that he may also take necessary steps for completion of documentation. Directorate of Pension is directed to process the claim of the petitioner regarding pension and other retiral dues, as per law, within two months from the date of receipt of pension papers from the O/o Inspector General, Registration

order to Inspector General, Registration as well as Directorate of Pension.
