It is the contention of the petitioner that he has filed application in Form No.53 and an acknowledgement of the same is issued on 27.03.1999, seeking regularisation of unauthorised occupation of an extent of 4 - 3 - HC-KAR NC: 2026:KHC:21624 WP No. 12032 of 2026 acres of land in Survey No.33 of Menasinamane Village, Arehalli Hobli, Belur Taluk, Hassan District, and the same has not been considered till date. Therefore, the prayer in the petition is to direct the respondents to consider the application filed in Form No.53 by the petitioner in the year 1999. 3. Having regard to the contentions raised in the writ petition and submission of the learned Counsel for the petitioner, this Court is of the considered opinion that respondent No.5-Tahasildar was duty bound to place the application filed by the petitioner before the 4th respondent-Committee and the Committee was also duty bound to consider the application and pass necessary orders. 4. The writ petition stands disposed of with a specific direction to respondent No.5-Tahasildar, Belur Taluk, to verify from the records as to whether such application filed by the petitioner seeking regularisation of unauthorized occupation of land at Annexure-A in the year - 4 - HC-KAR NC: 2026:KHC:21624 WP No. 12032 of 2026 1999 is pending consideration. If it is found that such application was indeed filed by the petitioner and the application is yet to be considered, the Tahasildar is directed to place before the Committee for regularisation of unauthorised occupation, the application along with his recommendation within a period of two months from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. Thereafter, the Committee shall consider the applications and pass necessary orders in accordance with law as expeditiously as possible and at any rate within a period of two months from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
