This writ petition has been filed for following relief:- "1. Issue a writ, order or direction in the nature of mandamus commanding and directing the respondent no. 2 to decide the revision under Rule-23 of U.P. Police Officers of the Subordinate Rank (Punishment and Appeal), Rule-1991 dated 20.04.2026 filed by the petitioner before the respondent no. 2 within stipulated period as fixed by this Hon'ble Court, pending before him." 3. Contention of learned counsel for the petitioner is that aforementioned revision is pending consideration and he prayed that same may be decided expeditiously. 4. No useful purpose would be served in keeping this petition pending. 5. Considering the facts and circumstances of the case, without expressing any opinion on the merits of the case, the present petition stands disposed of finally with a direction to respondent No. 2 to consider and decide the revision, in accordance with law, expeditiously, preferably within a period of eight weeks from the date of production of a certified copy of this order after giving opportunity of hearing to the parties concerned and without granting unnecessary adjournments to either of the parties provided there is no other legal impediment.
