For Petitioner : Mr.A.Ganesan For Respondent : Mr.P.Suruli Raja CONT.P(MD)No.1861 of 2026 O R D E R The learner counsel appearing for the petitioner would submit that without the permission of the University, the students were admitted as additional intake in the respondent College and later, they were not permitted to write the examination. Thereby, the petitioner filed a Writ Petition in W.P.(MD)No.13599 of 2026 and this Court by its interim order dated 29.04.2026, permitted the petitioner to undertake first year examination ie., III year LL.B. Course examination, commencing from 09.05.2026. However, the said order was not implemented and thereby, the present Contempt Petition has been filed. 2.The respondent College did not appear before this Court and this court issued a direction to execute bailable warrant for appearance of the respondent / contemnor, pursuant to which, the Administrative Officer of the College appeared before this court. 3.Learner Counsel appearing for the respondent would submit that a similar type of interim order was challenged before the Division CONT.P(MD)No.1861 of 2026 Bench of this Court by the Tamil Nadu Dr.Ambedkar Law University, wherein the Division Bench of this Court has granted an order of interim stay. 4.Heard the learned Counsel on either side. 5.Admittedly, the issue is pending before the Division Bench of this Court in an appeal filed by the University. However, the respondent College has not taken any efforts to file a Writ Appeal before this Court and further, the University has not permitted the college to conduct examination. Hence, impleading the University as a contemnor would not serve any useful purpose. 6.Accordingly, this Contempt Petition stands closed. 14.08.2026 Index: Yes/No. Internet: Yes/No. MR CONT.P(MD)No.1861 of 2026 To Dr.M.E.D.Mohammed, The Administrative Officer, Tulasi College of Law for Women, NH 138, Keelavallanadu, Srivaikuntam, Tuticorin – 628 851.
