Side) For R3 Order This writ petition has been filed seeking to direct the respondents 1 and 2 to survey and measure the land belonging to the petitioner situated in survey No.87/18A2, Ullikkottai Village, Mannargudi Taluk, Thiruvarur District, measuring an extent of 0.01.60 hectares and to fix the boundaries and consequently direct the 3rd respondent to provide adequate police protection for conducting survey and for enabling the petitioner to put up a fence around the said property. 2.Learned counsel for the petitioner would submit that the petitioner made a representation dated 09.10.2025 seeking to survey and measure the land belonging to the petitioner situated in survey No.87/18A2, Ullikkottai Village, Mannargudi Taluk, Thiruvarur District, measuring an extent of 0.01.60 hectares and to fix the boundaries. Since the same was not considered by the respondents 1 and 2, the present writ petition has been filed. __________ Page2 of 6 https://www.mhc.tn.gov.in/judis WP No. 30995 of 2026 3.Mr.B.Karthikeyan, learned Additional Government Pleader accepts notice on behalf of respondents 1 and 2 and Mr.Durai Gunasekaran, Government's Counsel (Crl. Side) accepts notice on behalf of 3rd respondent. 4.Learned Additional Government Pleader appearing for respondents 1 and 2 would submit that the petitioner may be directed make an online application in this regard and the same will be considered and disposed of within a time frame to be fixed by this Court. 5.Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner; the learned Additional Government Pleader appearing for the respondents 1 and 2 and the learned Government's Counsel (Crl. Side) for 3rd respondent. 6.Considering the submissions made by both parties and in view of the limited prayer sought for in this writ petition, this Court without expressing any opinion on the merits of the case, directs the petitioner to make an online application for survey and demarcation. Upon such application is being made, the respondents 1 and 2 is directed to consider the said online application and conduct a survey and demarcate the subject properties, within a period of six (6) weeks from the date of the online application, after issuing prior notice to the petitioner and other parties concerned, if any. If any need arises for Police __________ Page3 of 6 https://www.mhc.tn.gov.in/judis WP No. 30995 of 2026 assistance, it is open to the respondents 1 and 2 to request for Police protection from the 3rd respondent/jurisdictional Police. If any such request is made, the 3rd respondent/jurisdictional Police is directed to provide an adequate Police protection for conducting the survey. As for as the request made with regard to the fencing is concerned it falls under the private interest of the petitioner and hence no assistance or protection will be provided by the official respondent for the same. Therefore the said request of the petitioner is rejected. 7.It is made clear that this order is passed solely for the purpose of directing respondents 1 and 2 to conduct a survey and demarcate the subject property. If any dispute arises regarding the possession of the property, it must be resolved by filing a suit before a competent Civil Court. In the event of a title dispute, official respondents shall not take possession of the property and hand it over to any party. It is up to the parties concerned to seek recovery of possession through the due process of law. 8.With the above direction, this writ petition is disposed of.
