The third petitioner is an accused in crime No.24 of 2025 registered for the offence punishable under Sections 468, 420 & 34 of IPC on the file of the fourth respondent. In pursuant to the registration of FIR, the bank accounts of the petitioners have been frozen and they are not permitted to operate their accounts. 3. The learned counsel appearing for the petitioners would submit that the third petitioner is the tenant of the subject premises and in order to vacate the premises, he paid Rs.58,00,000/- and he stood as a witness to the sale deed executed in favour of the defacto complainant. Later, the defacto complainant found some encumbrance over the property and so complaint was lodged. Therefore, the third petitioner has nothing to do with the sale consideration paid by the complainant. https://www.mhc.tn.gov.in/judis Crl.OP.No.18419 of 2026 4. On instruction, the learned Government Advocate(Criminal Side) (Pondy) appearing for respondents 3 & 4 submitted that from the crime proceeds, a sum of Rs.60,00,000/- was transferred to the third petitioner’s bank account and in turn he transferred a sum of Rs.11,00,000/- each to the first and second petitioners. 5. It is seen that now the third petitioner is arrayed as A6 in crime No.24 of 2025 and still investigation is pending. When the investigation is pending in crime No.24 of 2025, the direction sought for in this petition to defreeze the petitioners’ bank accounts cannot be considered. However, the fourth respondent is directed to complete the investigation in crime No.24 of 2025 and file final report within a period of twelve weeks from the date of receipt of this order. 6.
