The case of the prosecution is that the petitioner was found in illegal possession of 1.100 kilograms of Ganja. Hence, the case. 3. The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner submitted that the petitioner has been falsely implicated in this case and that he has not committed any offence as alleged by the prosecution and he has been incarcerated since 13.06.2026. He further submitted that the petitioner is ready to abide by any stringent conditions that may be imposed by this Court. Hence, he prays for grant of bail to the Petitioner. 4. Per contra, the learned Government Advocate (Criminal Side) appearing for the Respondent Police reiterated the prosecution case and submitted that the petitioner was found in illegal possession of 1.100 kilograms of ganja and there are six previous cases pending against him out of which five are similar in nature. Hence, he opposed for the grant of bail to the Petitioner. 5. Heard the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and the learned Government Advocate (Crl.Side) for the respondent Police and perused the materials available on record. https://www.mhc.tn.gov.in/judis CRL OP No. 22559 of 2026 __________ Page3 of 5 6. Though the contraband involved in this case is an intermediate quantity, the submission of the learned Government Advocate (Criminal Side) that the petitioner has six previous cases out of which five are similar in nature, clearly demonstrates that if bail is granted, there is a likelihood of the petitioner misusing the liberty and thereby subverting the course of justice. Hence, this Court is of the view that the petitioner does not deserve the grant of bail. 7. Accordingly, this Criminal Original Petition is dismissed. 13-08-2026 GV To 1.
