This Habeas Corpus Petition has been filed seeking direction to 2nd Respondent to produce the petitioner’s daughter, namely, D.Divya aged about 20 years before this Court from the illegal custody of the 3rd Respondent and set her at liberty. 2. The learned Government Advocate (Crl.Side) appearing for the respondents, on instructions, states that the daughter of the petitioner married the 3rd defendant and she is living along with him in the State of Odisha. 3. Today, in the Court Hall, the petitioner was permitted to interact with her daughter through a WhatsApp call from the mobile phone of Mr.N.Ekambaram, Sub Inspector of Police (642), Mobille No.9498108688, Singarapettai Police Station to Mr.S.Chinnasamy (1012), Mobile No.9498133612, Sub Inspector of Police, Singarapettai Police Station. The petitioner interacted with her daughter for more than 5 minutes and thereafter, he informed that her daughter had married the 3rd respondent and she is not __________ Page2 of 5 https://www.mhc.tn.gov.in/judis HCP No. 1403 of 2026 interested to joint her parents. 4. We have also interacted with the daughter of the petitioner through WhatsApp call. The daughter of the petitioner stated that she had married the 3rd respondent and she is not willing to return to her parents’ house. 5. The daughter of the petitioner is aged 20 years and she is major and she herself stated that she married the 3rd respondent out of her own volition and that she is living with him of her own free will. Therefore, we are of the considered view that there is no unlawful custody involved in the present case. 6. Accordingly, this Habeas Corpus Petition is closed. (N.S.K.,J.)
