For Petitioner : Mr.C.Jeya Prakash For Respondents : Mr.M.P.Senthil Government Pleader ORDER (Order of the Court was made by C.V.KARTHIKEYAN.,J) This writ petition has been filed in the nature of mandamus seeking a direction against the respondents to remove encroachment in public pathway in old Survey No.166/1A, new Survey No.166/13 at Poovanthi Village, Thiruppuvanam Taluk, Sivagangai District. 2. When the writ petition came up for admission on 13.07.2026, we had issued the following direction: ''The fourth respondent is directed to conduct inspection of the ''g[];j;jp ghij'' in old Survey No.166-1A and new Survey No.166/13, Poovanthi Village, Thiruppuvanam Taluk, Sivagangai District and file a report. If there are any encroachment, names of the encroachers may be stated in the 2/5 WP(MD). No.19654 of 2026 report'' 3. The learned Additional Government Pleader had today forwarded a report received by him from the Revenue Tashidar at Tiruppuvanam who had conducted an inspection of the entire area and had found that there were two encroachments namely, by Jayaraman S/o Muniyandi to an extent of 0.00.07 sq. metres by putting up a small tiled construction and also raising a few trees, and another obstruction by Tmt.Selvi, w/o Muthukumar to an extent of 0.00.06 sq. metres, who had put up the steps to the house and also a septic tank. It had been contended that necessary steps would be taken to remove the said encroachments. 4. We would issue a direction that necessary steps must be taken to remove the encroachments in the manner known to law without any delay. Steps may also be taken to maintain the open drainage system without any obstruction. 5. Recording as above, this writ petition stands disposed. (C.V.K.,J) & (R.S.V.,J) 3/5 WP(MD).
