It is the case of the petitioner that her minor daughter XXXX, aged about 17 years, went missing on 01.06.2026. Later, the petitioner came to know that the respondents 3 & 4 have abducted her minor daughter. In such circumstances, the petitioner lodged a complaint before the second respondent – Police and based on the said complaint, the second respondent – Police registered a case in Crime No.260 of 2026 under the caption “Girl Missing”. Alleging that no further action has been taken by the respondent – Police to trace the whereabouts of her minor daughter based on her complaint, the petitioner has approached this Court by filing the present habeas corpus petition. ____________ https://www.mhc.tn.gov.in/judis H.C.P.(MD) No.919 of 2026 3. Today, when the matter is taken up for hearing, learned counsel for State of Tamil Nadu (Criminal Side) appearing for the respondents 1 & 2, on instructions, submitted that based on the complaint given by the petitioner, a case in Crime No.260 of 2026 has been registered by the respondent – Police under the caption “Girl Missing” and during the course of enquiry, it was revealed that the petitioner's daughter was taken by the fourth respondent herein, who is aged about 19 years and both of them were traced in Salem. He would further submit that the parents of the fourth respondent herein has also given a complaint and based on the said complaint, a case in Crime No.156 of 2026 has been registered on the file of Alwarthirunagari Police Station. 4. Today, the respondent – Police produced the petitioner's minor daughter before this Court. 5. When we enquired the missing girl, she submitted that she had gone along with the fourth respondent herein and she expressed her willingness to go along with her mother / petitioner herein, who is present before this Court and the mother of the missing girl / petitioner herein is also ready to take her minor daughter with her. ____________ https://www.mhc.tn.gov.in/judis H.C.P.(MD) No.919 of 2026 6.
