Ms. Unnati Pant, learned counsel for the petitioner. 2. Mr. Ghanshyam Joshi, learned Standing Counsel for the State. 3. Mr. Sanjay Bhatt, learned counsel for the State Election Commission. 4. By the instant petition preferred under Article 227 of the Constitution of India, petitioner is praying for the following relief:- “(i) Issue a writ order or direction commanding/ directing the learned District Judge, Bageshwar to decide Election Petition No. 02/2025, Saroj vs. Shobha Devi, expeditiously, preferably within a period of three months or within such time as this Hon’ble Court may deem fit and proper.” 5. Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that as per the mandate of law, the election petition has to be expedited within six months however though the election petition was filed on 01.09.2025 but the same has not been expedited so far. 6. The relief, as sought, appears to be innocuous. 7. Accordingly, the instant writ petition is disposed of finally with the direction to the Prescribed Authority to expedite the proceeding of Election Petition No. 02 of 2025 Saroj vs. Shobha Devi as expeditiously as possible preferably within four months positively from the date of production of certified copy of this order.
