Ms. Anasuya Sinha. …for the State. Learned advocate appearing for the petitioner submits that the petitioner was taken into custody on or about 18.01.2025 and since then he is behind the bars. Prosecution intends to rely upon 11 witnesses in order to prove its case but till date only 1 witness has been examined. Learned advocate appearing for the State opposes the prayer for bail. However, having regard to the period of detention suffered by the petitioner, I am of the view that further incarceration is unwarranted. Accordingly, the prayer for bail of the petitioner is allowed. The petitioner, namely, Alauddin Pailan @ Ala shall be 2 released on bail upon furnishing bond of Rs.20,000/- (Rupees Twenty Thousand only) with two sureties of Rs.10,000/- each, one of whom must be local to the satisfaction of the learned Judge, Special Court, under NDPS Act-cum-learned Additional District and Sessions Judge, 4th Court, Alipore, South 24 Parganas. If on bail, the petitioner shall be physically present on each and every date fixed by the learned trial court and shall not leave the jurisdiction of the district of South 24 Parganas without the prior permission of the learned special court. Accordingly, CRM (NDPS) 161 of 2026 is allowed. Report submitted by the State be kept with the record. Case diary be returned to the learned advocate appearing for the State.
