Advocate (Civil) ORDER The writ petition is filed seeking a direction to the respondents to restore the patta in the name of the petitioner in respect of the property comprised in Survey No.97, measuring an extent of 0.12.5 Hectares, situated at Pettai Village, Cholavandhan Post, Vadipatti Taluk, Madurai District, by considering the petitioner's representation dated 24.07.2026. 2.Heard the arguments of Mr.B.Sekar, learned counsel for the petitioner, and Mr.L.Siva, learned Government Advocate (Civil), appearing for the respondents. By consent, this writ petition is taken up for final disposal at the admission stage itself. 2/5 https://www.mhc.tn.gov.in/judis W.P(MD)No.23661 of 2026 3.According to the petitioner, the subject property was acquired by the respondents for the purpose of constructing a hostel for persons belonging to the Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe communities. The acquisition notification was challenged by the petitioner in W.P.(MD) No.10642 of 2005, and the same was dismissed. Aggrieved by the same, the petitioner filed W.A.(MD) No. 784 of 2011. The said writ appeal was allowed and the acquisition notification was quashed. Thereafter, the petitioner submitted various representations before the respondents seeking restoration of patta in his name. However, the same have not been considered. Hence, the petitioner has approached this Court. 4.The learned Government Advocate (Civil), who takes notice for the respondents, submits that the representation of the petitioner will be considered and disposed of in accordance with law. 5.In view of the above submission, without expressing any opinion on the merits of the matter, the 4th respondent is directed to consider the petitioner's representation dated 24.07.2026 and pass final orders on its own merits and in accordance with law, within a period of twelve weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. 3/5 https://www.mhc.tn.gov.in/judis W.P(MD)No.23661 of 2026 6.The writ petition is disposed of accordingly.
