Heard the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner; Mr.K.Sankararaman, learned Central Government Standing Counsel, who accepts notice on behalf of the first respondent; and Mr.R.Mohamed Riyaz, learned Government Advocate (Criminal Side), who accepts notice on behalf of the second respondent. 3. The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner would submit that the petitioner has submitted an application for renewal/re-issue of his passport vide application No.26-1052574551 dated 12.02.2026. However, the same has not been considered so far. Hence, the present Writ Petition has been filed. 5. The learned Government Advocate (Criminal Side) would submit that no criminal case is pending against the petitioner. 6. Considering the above submission and taking note of the fact that no criminal case is pending against the petitioner, the first respondent is directed to consider the petitioner's renewal application No.26-1052574551 dated 12.02.2026 and pass appropriate orders, in accordance with law, within a period of six weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. 7. With the above direction, this Writ Petition is disposed of. No costs.
