The learned counsel for the appellant would submit that a case in S.C.No.5 of 2018 is pending before the trial Court as against the appellant and due to his non- appearance, NBW was issued against the petitioner on 09.12.2025 and subsequently, he was remanded to judicial custody on 05.05.2026. Thereafter, the petitioner moved a bail application and the same was dismissed by the concerned Court by its order dated 21.05.2026, considering the stage of the case and also considering the fact that the petitioner has 18 previous cases and that the sureties failed to produce the accused before the concerned Court. Challenging the same, the present appeal has been filed. 3. When the matter was taken up for hearing today, the learned Government Advocate (Crl.Side) stated that the trial in S.C.No.5 of 2018 has almost been completed and all the witnesses have been examined and the case has been posted for arguments on 10.08.2026. https://www.mhc.tn.gov.in/judis 4. Considering the stage of the case, this Court is not inclined to grant bail to this petitioner at this stage. However, the Trial Court is expected to conclude the trial as expeditiously as possible, preferably within a period of four weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. 5. With the above direction, this Criminal Appeal is dismissed. 04-08-2026 Indu To 1.The Deputy Superintendent of Police, Tirunelveli Sub-Division, Tirunelveli District. 2.The Inspector of Police, Sivanthipatti Police Station, Tirunelveli District. 3.The Additional Public Prosecutor Madurai Bench of Madras High Court, Madurai. https://www.mhc.tn.gov.in/judis B.PUGALENDHI , J .
