The allegation against the petitioner is that the petitioner waylaid the de facto complainant and demanded money from him. It is alleged that, due the said allege threat, the defacto complainant handed over a sum of Rs.600/-, to the accused persons. Hence, the case. 3. The learned counsel for the petitioner submitted that the petitioner has been in judicial custody since 29.07.2026. He further submitted that the petitioner is innocent and no way connected with the offence and that the petitioner is ready to abide by any conditions that may be imposed by this Court. Hence, he prays to grant bail to the petitioner. 4. The learned Government Advocate (Crl.Side) appearing for the respondent police reiterated the prosecution case and submitted that the petitioner has 8 previous cases pending against him. Hence, he strongly oppose for the grant of bail to the petitioner. 5. I have given my anxious consideration to the submissions made by the learned counsel on either side and perused the materials available on record. 6. Considering the nature of the allegations and the previous criminal antecedents of the petitioner, this Court is of the firm view that at this stage, if the petitioner is released on bail, he would abscond and may not appear before https://www.mhc.tn.gov.in/judis CRL OP No. 23177 of 2026 __________ Page3 of 4 the Court by abiding the condition and would indulge in similar offences.
