Learned counsel for the petitioner would submit that the petitioner has made a representations dated 22.06.2026 before the first respondent, seeking cancellation of patta stands in the name of the Respondents 2 to 5 in respect of the petitioner’s property to an extent of 1 acre in Survey No.110/3 (Now subdivided as 110/3B7, 110/3B5, 110/3B6 and 110/3B4) situated at Mavadipattu Village, Kalvarayan Hills Taluk, Kallakurichi District. However, the said representation was not considered, as on date. Hence, this writ petition. 3. Ms.A.Bakkiya Lakshmi, learned Additional Government Pleader takes notice on behalf of first respondent and submitted that the power to cancel a patta is vested with the Revenue Divisional Officer (RDO). However, in the case on hand, the petitioner has sent a representation to the Tahsildar/first respondent, who lacks the competent authority to order such a cancellation. 4. Since the cancellation power is vested with the Revenue Divisional Officer, this Court directs the petitioner to make a fresh representation seeking the cancellation of the patta before the concerned Revenue Divisional Officer within a period of two weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. On receipt of such representation, the concerned Revenue Divisional Officer is directed to dispose of the same, after issuing due notice to the petitioner as well as the respondents 2 to 5 and other aggrieved parties, if any, within a period of eight (8) weeks thereof. With the aforesaid observation and direction, this writ petition stands disposed of.
