Elayaraj Kumar Special Government Pleader for R1 and R2 ORDER The present Writ Petition has been filed seeking the issuance of a Writ of Mandamus directing the first respondent to dispose of the petitioner's statutory appeal dated 02.03.2026. 2. The case of the petitioner is that he preferred a statutory appeal before the first respondent, challenging the order passed by the second respondent rejecting his request for mutation of the patta in his favour. Though the first respondent conducted an enquiry on 16.06.2026, during which the petitioner produced all the relevant documents pertaining to the subject property and the 3rd respondent also participated in the enquiry, no final order has been passed on the said appeal till date. Aggrieved by the inaction on the part of the first respondent in disposing of the statutory appeal, the petitioner has filed the present Writ Petition. __________ Page2 of 5 https://www.mhc.tn.gov.in/judis WP No. 31241 of 2026 3. In response, Mr. P. Elayaraj Kumar, learned Special Government Pleader appearing for respondents 1 and 2, submitted that the first respondent would consider and dispose of the petitioner's statutory appeal dated 02.03.2026, and pass appropriate orders in accordance with law within a period of eight weeks. 4. Considering the facts and circumstances of the case and the submissions made on either side, this Court, without expressing any opinion on the merits of the claim made by the petitioner, directs the first respondent/ Revenue Divisional Officer to consider and dispose of the statutory appeal dated 02.03.2026 preferred by the petitioner, on merits and in accordance with law, within a period of eight (8) weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. 5.
