Petitioner has come up before this Court seeking a direction to the respondents to decide his representation dated 15.05.2026. A further prayer has been made to direct the respondents to permit the petitioner to harvest maize crop standing over the subject land. 4. It is the case of petitioner that petitioner was granted licence for sowing and harvesting crop over the land of respondent-University on 01.06.2023 for a period of three years. The writ petition has been filed on the premise that on 31.05.2026, three years’ period of licence would expire and petitioner apprehends that subsequent thereto, the respondents would not permit petitioner to harvest the maize crop which is ready to be harvested. 5. There is no dispute between the parties that the licence was granted in favour of petitioner by respondent-University and the crop of maize was sown by the petitioner. Therefore, petitioner has a right to harvest the same. 6. In such view of the matter, writ petition is allowed. The petitioner is permitted to harvest the maize crop standing over the land strictly within 30 days from today. 2026:UHC:4203 7. This order, in no manner, would mean that petitioner has a right to retain the land after 31.05.2026. 8. Let a copy of this order be issued to learned Counsel for parties, today itself, as per rules.
