BEFORE HONOURABLE MR. JUSTICE MRIDUL KUMAR KALITA ORDER 09.05.2026 This matter is put up before the National Lok Adalat. The learned counsel for the appellant/claimant, namely, A.R. Agarwala is personally present before the Lok Adalat. He submits that the claimant could not appear before the Lok Adalat today due to remoteness of the place. However, she is agreeable to appear before the Lok Adalat through WhatsApp video calling. Same is allowed. The appellant/claimant appears before the Lok Adalat through WhatsApp video calling. It appears that the claimant was awarded a compensation amount of Rs. 13,560/-, along with an interest @ 8 % per annum by the Motor Accident Claims Tribunal, Dhubri. Now it has been amicably settled between the parties to pay an additional amount of Rs. 1,20,000/- to the claimant, in addition to what has already been paid. In terms of the settlement arrived at between the parties, the insurance company shall deposit an additional amount of Rs. 1,20,000/- before the Registry of this court within a period of 45 days from the date of this order. Same shall be disbursed to the claimant after such deposit on due verification. This appeal is, accordingly, disposed of.
