JUSTICE SACHIN SHANKAR MAGADUM Digitally signed by CHAITHRA A Location: HIGH COURT OF KARNATAKA - 2 - HC-KAR NC: 2026:KHC:16551 WP No. 9078 of 2026 ORAL ORDER This writ petition is filed seeking issuance of a writ of mandamus directing respondent No.1 to consider the petitioner’s representation dated 26.11.2025 (Annexure–E) and to take necessary precautionary measures to ensure that no untoward incident occurs during the conduct of poojas in connection with the April festival of Sri.Veerabhadreshwara Swamy and Kalamma Devi Temple situated at Kadiluvagilu Village, Maddur Taluk, Mandya District. The grievance of the petitioner is that despite submission of the said representation, the same was not acted upon, thereby necessitating the present writ petition. 2. Learned Additional Government Advocate, on instructions and by filing a memo, has placed on record the endorsement dated 11.12.2025 issued by respondent No.1 – Deputy Commissioner, Mandya District, whereby necessary directions have already been issued to the jurisdictional Tahasildar to examine the petitioner’s - 3 - HC-KAR NC: 2026:KHC:16551 WP No. 9078 of 2026 grievance and to take appropriate steps in accordance with law. It is further brought to the notice of this Court that pursuant to the said endorsement, respondent No.2 – Tahasildar has, in turn, addressed a communication dated 19/21.02.2026 to the Police Inspector, K.M. Doddi Police Station, calling upon the Police Authorities to ensure maintenance of law and order and to take preventive measures during the festival period. 3. In light of the aforesaid material placed on record, this Court is satisfied that the grievance ventilated by the petitioner in the representation dated 26.11.2025 has already been duly considered and acted upon by the competent authorities. The relief sought in the present writ petition thus stands substantially complied with. Consequently, no further mandamus or direction survives for consideration in the present proceedings. 4. However, it is observed that the jurisdictional Police Officer shall scrupulously ensure implementation of - 4 - HC-KAR NC: 2026:KHC:16551 WP No. 9078 of 2026 the directions issued by respondent Nos.1 and 2 and maintain law and order during the ensuing April festival. The authorities shall also ensure that the conduct of poojas and related activities is carried out strictly in accordance with the terms of the settlement recorded in O.S. No.125/2021 on the file of the Principal Civil Judge and JMFC, Maddur. Subject to the above observations, the writ petition stands disposed of.
