The petitioner in the captioned writ petition has approached this Court seeking issuance of a writ of mandamus directing the respondents to delete his name from the rowdy register maintained within the jurisdiction of Amruthahalli Police Station, Bengaluru. 2. Learned Additional Government Advocate, on instructions, submits that the petitioner’s name does not find place in the rowdy register maintained within the limits of Amruthahalli Police Station, Bengaluru. In that view of the matter, he would contend that the relief sought in the present writ petition does not survive for consideration and no writ of mandamus can be issued. 3. Recording the submission made by the learned Additional Government Advocate and in the absence of any subsisting cause of action, this Court is of the considered view that the - 3 - HC-KAR NC: 2026:KHC:22452 WP No. 32558 of 2025 writ petition does not warrant further adjudication. Accordingly, the writ petition stands disposed of. 4. Needless to observe that, in the event the petitioner is subsequently informed or becomes aware that his name is entered in any rowdy register maintained by any other jurisdictional Police Station, it is open to the petitioner to work out his remedies in accordance with law before the competent authority.
