Learned counsel for the respondent submitted that the application submitted by the petitioner was not in order and was therefore rejected, with a direction to submit an online application along with the required documents. He further submitted that the Defence Estate Officer claims rights over the property situated at St. Thomas Mount. Therefore, the water supply connection, if granted, would not confer any right or title over the property on the petitioner. 3. In view of the above submissions, this writ petition is disposed of with the following directions: (i) The petitioner shall submit an online application along with the required documents for providing a water supply connection to the said property. (ii) On receipt of such application, the respondent shall consider and process the same and, if the petitioner satisfies the other applicable requirements, provide the water supply connection within four weeks from the date of submission of the online application. https://www.mhc.tn.gov.in/judis WP No. 24421 of 2026 __________ Page3 of 4 (iii) It is made clear that providing the water supply connection shall not confer any right, title or interest over the property in favour of the petitioner. (iv).
