CRL OP No. 21584 of 2026 __________ Page2 of 5 Sections 78, 118(1), 49 and 3(5) of BNS Act, in Crime No.89 of 2026 on the file of the respondent police seeks anticipatory bail. 2. The allegation against the petitioner is that the petitioners rammed his vehicle into the de facto complainant's two-wheeler while she was riding from her home to her office. Hence, the complaint was registered against the petitioners. 3. The learned counsel for the petitioners submitted that the alleged occurrence took place on 26.06.2026, whereas the FIR was registered only on
27.07.2026. He further submitted that the de facto complainant is the wife of the first petitioner and the sister-in-law of the second petitioner. Due to a difference of opinion, she separated from her husband and has lodged this false complaint only to harass the petitioners. Hence, he prayed for the grant of anticipatory bail to the petitioners
4. Per contra, the learned Government Advocate (Crl.Side) appearing for the respondent police reiterated the prosecution case and, upon instructions, submitted that the injured was discharged from the hospital and that the petitioners have no criminal antecedents. Hence, she opposed to grant anticipatory bail to the petitioner. 5. I have given my anxious consideration to either side submissions. 6.
Considering the submissions made by the learned counsel on either side, it is seen that that the alleged occurrence took place on 26.06.2026, whereas the FIR was registered only on 27.07.2026, and that the petitioners https://www.mhc.tn.gov.in/judis
