Mr. Ravindra S. Rawat, learned counsel for the petitioners. 2. Mr. Himanshu Sain, learned A.G.A. for the State. 3. The petitioner Neha D/o Moti Ram and Pankaj S/o Ramkishan are praying for adequate protection to their life and liberty since there is a regular threat perception from respondent no. 3 and 4, the father and the brother of the petitioner no.1. In support of age the Aadhar Card and High School certificate have been enclosed of both the petitioners. The petitioner no.1 completed 18 years on 10.04.2026 and petitioner no.2 completed 21 years on 15.05.2026 and on the same date they married at Shiv Mandir Laksar, and they also applied for registration of their marriage, the receipt of which is also enclosed as Annexure no.1. 4. On the other side, Mr. B.C. Joshi, the learned A.G.A. has not disputed their age. 5. Taking into consideration that both the petitioners are major and if there is any threat perception from the private respondents then the State is under legal obligation to assess the same. 6. Accordingly, I dispose of the instant writ 2026:UHC:4185 petition with the direction to the Senior Superintendent of Police, Haridwar to assess the threat perception if any to the petitioners from the private respondents and if he comes to the conclusion that there is any threat from the private respondents, he shall take appropriate steps. In addition to this the S.H.O. concerned shall call upon the private respondents and advise them not to take the law in their hands. 7. The petition is disposed of finally in the aforesaid terms.
