VIBHU BAKHRU, CHIEF JUSTICE) 1. The complainant has filed the present complaint alleging willful disobedience of the order dated 14.10.2024 passed by the learned Single Judge in W.P. No.14508/2024 (LA-RES). In terms of the said order, the Commissioner, BBMP was directed to consider the complainant's representation dated 07.05.2024 within a period of three months from date. 2. Learned counsel for the accused has handed over a memo enclosing there with an endorsement dated 12.03.2026. It is noted in the said endorsement that certain discrepancies had been observed between the records and the actual property as shown by the petitioner/complainant. Thus, the compensation would be released to the complainant on the complainant producing valid - 3 - HC-KAR NC: 2026:KHC:16038-DB CCC No. 183 of 2025 documents establishing his ownership in respect of the said property falling in Sy.No.290/1 (Old No.57). 3. Learned counsel for the complainant submits that the said endorsement is merely a ruse to withhold compensation. He submits that the complainant had surrendered his land and also executed a relinquishment deed and therefore, he is entitled for the compensation. Since the order, the disobedience of which is alleged, merely directed that the complainant's representation be considered, which has been done, we do not consider it apposite to initiate any proceeding under the contempt of Courts Act, 1971. The present complaint is, accordingly, closed. 4. We however clarify that this would not preclude the complainant from availing any substantive remedy including for pursuing the claim for compensation, in accordance with law.
