“to direct the 2nd and 3rd respondents to consider and post the petitioner as Staff Nurse on transfer in any one of the Hospitals in and around Thoothukkudi District specifically in the Government Hospital, Tiruchendur or in Government Medical College Hospital, Thoothukkudi or in Government Hospital, Sathaankulam or in Govemment Hospital, Srivaikuntam or in Government Hospital, Udangudi, Kalankudiyiruppu, by considering her family circumstances as mentioned in the representation dated 29.06.2026, within a time frame fixed by this Hon’ble Court.”

The case of the petitioner is that she was appointed as a Staff Nurse on consolidated basis on 27.12.2016 and was initially posted to Government Primary Health Centre, Puliyarai, Sankarankoil HUD, Tirunelveli District. Following subsequent transfers, the petitioner’s services were regularised by the 2nd respondent on 13.02.2026 and the petitioner was thereafter transferred from the Government Primary Health Centre, Meignanapuram, Thoothukkudi to the Raji Gandhi Government Hospital, Chennai.

W.P.No.31067 of 2026 __________ Page3 of 5 person available to take care of her aged in-laws, who are suffering from serious health ailments as well as her young children residing in Thoothukkudi, the petitioner made a representation dated 29.06.2026 before the respondents requesting to transfer her to any Hospital in and around Thoothukkudi, enabling her to take care of her family. Despite an existing vacancy in Tiruchendur, no action has been taken on her representation till date. Aggrieved by the inaction on the part of the respondents, the petitioner has come up with this writ petition seeking the above relief. 3. Heard the learned counsel appearing on either side and perused the materials available on record. 4. Considering the relief sought by the learned counsel for the petitioner, this Court, without expressing any opinion on the merits of the case, directs the 2nd and 3rd respondents to consider the representation dated 29.06.2026, wherein the petitioner seeks a transfer from Chennai to any hospital in and around Thoothukkudi, on merits and in accordance with the law and pass appropriate orders within a period of four (4) weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. While deciding, the respondents shall take into account the vacancy at Tiruchendur and also shall consider that the petitioner is the sole caregiver for her young children and her aged in-laws, particularly her father-in-law who suffers from Alzheimer's disease. https://www.mhc.tn.gov.in/judis

5. Accordingly, this writ petition stands disposed of. No costs.
