ORDER (Order of the Court was made by the Hon'ble Chief Justice) This petition styled as public interest litigation has been filed seeking to consider the representation dated 27.06.2026 with regard to the renovation of the entire drainage sewerage pipelines by replacing them with a new one.
2. The case of the petitioner is that the drainage system was constructed 30 years back and due to enlargement of number of plots, the present drainage system is not sufficient to drain the entire drainage water. The drainage system has totally failed and water is overflowing and entering into the rooms of all the houses. In this regard, the petitioner has submitted a detailed representation on 27.06.2026, but no action till date has been taken. https://www.mhc.tn.gov.in/judis

3. On the other hand, learned counsel appearing for the respondents submits that if directions are issued, the pending representation shall be considered in accordance with law, if not already considered and a reasoned and speaking order shall be passed as expeditiously as possible.
4. In view of the aforesaid, this writ petition is disposed of with a direction to the respondents to consider the representation dated 27.06.2026 in accordance with law and pass a reasoned and speaking
order as expeditiously as possible, preferably within four weeks from the date of receipt of a certified copy of the order. There shall be no
order as to costs. We make it clear that we have not expressed any opinion on the merits of the case.
