The petitioner lodged a complaint alleging that the accused called the petitioner and introduced himself as a Gold Appraiser, working in DBS Bank. He also introduced another person one Rameshkumar. Believing the said words, the petitioner gave his gold to the accused on five occasions weighing 216.200 grams, 327.000 grams, 22.500 grams and 84.800 grams and 108.120 grams. Though the accused repaid a meagre sum, they cheated huge gold and when it was questioned by the petitioner, they threatened him with dire consequences. Therefore, the petitioner lodged a complaint before the 3rd respondent on 04.04.2025. Though after prolonged attempt, the 3rd respondent registered the FIR in Crime No.223 of 2025. However, so far, no recovery of gold from the accused and did not take any action as against the accused. The learned Government Advocate (Criminal Side) appearing for the respondents, on instructions, submits that they are almost about to complete the investigation and to file a final report. 4. Heard the learned Counsel appearing on either side and perused the materials placed on record. 5. On perusal of the records, it is revealed that there is no progress on the file of the 3rd respondent, after registration of FIR. That apart, the allegations are very serious in nature and it involves other cyber crimes also. 6. In view of the above, the entire investigation pending in Crime No.223 of 2025 is hereby withdrawn from the file of the 3rd respondent and transferred to the file of the 2nd respondent for further and proper investigation. The 3rd respondent is directed to handover the entire case diary in respect of Crime No.223 of 2025 to the file of 2nd respondent, forthwith. On receipt of the same, the 2nd respondent is directed to complete the investigation and file a final report within a period of twelve weeks from the date of receipt of the entire case diary in Crime No.223 of 2025. 3/5 https://www.mhc.tn.gov.in/judis Crl.O.P.No.4724 of 2026 7.
