Vivek Singh Thakur, Judge Present appeal has been preferred by the State against judgment dated 27.09.2024 passed by learned Single Judge in CWP No.688 of 2024 titled as ‘Jagdev Singh & Ors. vs. State of H.P. & Ors.’, whereby private respondents have been entitled to counting service rendered by them on contract from 2004 till 2014 along with due and admissible benefits. 1Whether the reporters of the local papers may be allowed to see the Judgment? Learned counsel for private respondents submits that private respondents are restricting their claim to count their contract service rendered by them on contract from 2004 till 2014, as ordered by learned Single Judge in impugned judgment, for pensionary benefits, but without claiming annual increments for the said contract period. 3. The impugned judgment has been passed by learned Single Judge on the basis of judgment dated 21.08.2023 passed in CWPOA No.5507 of 2020 titled as ‘Oma Wati & Anr. Vs. State of H.P. & Ors.’, which has attained finality after dismissal of SLP(C) Diary No.46343 of 2024 titled as ‘The State of Himachal Pradesh & Ors. vs. Oma Wati & Anr.’ by the Apex Court on 09.05.2025. 4. The issue with respect to granting annual increments for contract period after regularisation is pending before the Apex Court in SLP (C) Diary No.8008 of 2025 preferred by the State against judgment dated 02.09.2024 passed in LPA No.232 of 2024 titled as ‘Ram Chand & Ors. vs. State of H.P. & Ors.’ 5. As private respondents are not pressing their claim for annual increments on contract period service, therefore, in view of attaining finality of verdict in Oma Wati (supra), nothing survives to -3- 2026:HHC:4624 be adjudicated in present appeal and accordingly, the present appeal stands disposed of being infructuous.
