Learned Special Government Pleader for respondents 1, 2 and 4 would submit that the appropriate authority would be the fourth respondent to grant Exit permit. He would however submit that for grant of Exit permit by fourth respondent, no objection certificate may have to be obtained by fifth respondent inasmuch as petitioner who is admittedly a citizen of Srilanka has overstayed beyond the visa period. https://www.mhc.tn.gov.in/judis WP No.31020 of 2026 __________ Page3 of 6 3. Learned Government Advocate appearing on behalf of fifth respondent would submit that petitioners’ representation dated 25.06.2026, would be considered and appropriate orders would be passed, within a time frame to be fixed by this Court. It is thereafter open to petitioners to approach the appropriate authority requesting for issuance of Exit permit, which was agreed to by learned counsel for petitioner. 4. In view thereof, there shall be a direction to fifth respondent, to consider petitioner’s representation dated 25.06.2026 on its own merits and pass appropriate orders, in accordance with law, after affording reasonable opportunity of hearing to petitioners, within a period of two weeks from the date of uploading of web copy without waiting for the receipt of certified copy. It is thereafter open to petitioners to approach the appropriate authority/fourth respondent requesting for issuance of Exit permit. It is made clear that this Court has not expressed any views with regard to the merits of the case. 5. Accordingly, writ petition stands disposed of.
