Ali, learned counsel appears for the petitioner; Mr. S. Dutta, learned Standing Counsel, Revenue, Mr. R. Dhar, learned counsel appears for the Respondents No. 3 and 4. 2. In deference to the earlier order dated 04.05.2026, Mr. S. Dutta, learned Standing Counsel for the Revenue, on instructions submitted that the appeal has been filed by the petitioner before the Secretary to the Govt. of Assam, Revenue and Disaster Management, whereas under the Rules the Appellate Authority is the Director of Land Records and Surveys. Accordingly, the appeal has been forwarded to the Director of Land Records and Surveys by communication dated 07.05.2026. 3. In that view of the matter, since the appeal is now before the appropriate authority, the concern authority will expeditiously proceed to hear and dispose of the matter as per the procedure of Law. The Appellate Authority will also pass a speaking order in the appeal which is preferred by the writ petitioner. The hearing and disposal of the appeal be carried out by the concerned Appellate Page No.# 3/3 Authority within a period of 6 weeks from the date of receipt of certified copies of this order. 4. Needless to say any such orders that may be passed, copies thereof shall be served on the writ petitioner and also the writ petitioner be given adequate opportunity to appear before the Appellate Authority. 5.
