The petitioner has filed the present contempt petition alleging that the respondents have wilfully disobeyed in complying with the order of this Court dated 28.04.2025 in W.P.No.10692 of 2020. 3. The petitioner has approached this Court by filing the subject writ petition seeking to call for the records on the file of the second respondent in Office Proceedings No.88 dated 09.07.2020 and to quash the same. 4. This Court while considering the aforesaid relief sought for in the writ petition had allowed the writ petition and quashed the proceedings. 5. The petitioner submits that though the respondents, having regard to the direction contained in the orders of this Court, promoted the petitioner as Assistant on 05.11.2025, the respondents did not grant the monetary benefit due to him in the said post. However, it is to be noted that the petitioner, while approaching this Court by the said writ petition, did not 2/4 https://www.mhc.tn.gov.in/judis Cont.P.No.2863 of 2026 even ask for consequential benefit on quashing the said order, for this Court now to hold that the respondents having failed to comply with the order of this Court wilfully. 6. If only the said claim of the the petitioner is now permitted to be raised by way of present contempt petition, it not only enlarges the scope of the relief sought for and granted in the writ petition but would also be contrary to Section 9 of the Contempt Act. 7.
