Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner, the learned Assistant Government Pleader for Home appearing on behalf of respondent Nos. 1 to 4, and Mr. Bolla Venkata Rama Rao, learned counsel appearing on behalf of respondent Nos. 5 to 7 on caveat. 3. Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that, at the instance of respondent Nos. 5 to 7, respondents-Police are interfering with the possessory rights of the petitioner, which is the subject matter of O.S.No.83 of 2024 on the file of the IV Additional District Judge, Kakinada, filed by the petitioner herein (plaintiff) seeking declaration of title and consequential permanent injunction. 4 MRK,J W.P.No.19193 of 2026 4. On the other hand, the learned Assistant Government Pleader for Home submits that respondents-Police are not interfering with the civil disputes in any manner. 5. Conversely, learned counsel for respondent Nos.5 to 7 submits that multiple cases are pending between the petitioner and respondent Nos.5 to 7. It is also submitted that, in O.S.No.83 of 2024 filed by the petitioner, no interim orders have been granted by the competent Civil Court in favour of the petitioner. He further submits that, as on date, the petitioner is not in possession and enjoyment of the subject property. 6. It is a well-settled principle of law that the Police department has neither the jurisdiction nor the authority to adjudicate, interfere with, or resolve disputes that are purely civil in nature. 7. With the consent of the learned counsel appearing for both sides, the Writ Petition is disposed of directing respondents-Police not to interfere with the civil disputes of the petitioner without following due process of law.
