In all petitions: For Petitioner(s) : Mr.Kanna Patel.I For Respondent(s) : Mr.V.Srinivasan, AGP COMMON ORDER Since the issue involved in all these writ petitions are similar in nature, they are disposed of by way of this common order. 2.
These writ petitions have been filed seeking the following relief:-
“to direct the respondents to consider the petitioners’ representations, all dated on 07.04.2026, and to absorb the petitioners’ services in the regular post by relaxing the rules after completion of ten years from the date of initial appointment as a Watcher on daily wage basis similar to extending the benefit of the G.O.No.13, 50 Environment and Forest (FR 2 ii) Department dated 26.03.2018, 10.03.2023 and G.O.(2D) No.157 https://www.mhc.tn.gov.in/judis

The brief facts of the case are as follows:- 3.1 The petitioners joined the services of the Forest Department as temporary workers on various dates and were working as Plot Watchers cum Nursery Watchers in various offices and from the respective dates of their appointments, the petitioners have been continuously discharging their duty without any default till date. Notably, the services of the similarly situated persons working in the Forest Department under various categories have been regularised periodically through the issuance of various Government Orders. 3.2 Having continuously worked under the respective Officers for more than ten years, the petitioners requested the Department to regularise their services and they have made several oral as well as written representations in this regard. Furthermore, the petitioners’ names were included in a departmental list compiling details of temporary workers who have completed ten years of service. Despite the inclusion of their names in the said list, no further action has been taken by the respondents to date.

W.P.Nos.30983, 30985, 30987, 30999, 31000 & 31001 of 2026 __________ Page4 of 6 3.3 Further, similarly placed persons approached this Court and pursuant to the orders of this Court as well as the orders of the Apex Court, the Government had regularised the services of the similarly placed persons. Hence, the petitioners cannot be deprived from getting the benefits of regularisation and other benefits. Therefore, the petitioners, being identically situated, submitted representations seeking similar relief with their last representation, all made on
07.04.2026. However, till date, no orders have been passed on the said representations. Aggrieved by the inaction on the part of the respondents, the petitioners have come up with these writ petitions seeking to regularise their service with effect from the respective dates of their initial appointments, thereby, enabling them to get all consequential service and monetary benefits. 4. Heard learned counsel on either side and perused the materials available on record. 5. Considering the limited request made by the learned counsel for the petitioners, this Court, without going into the merits of the case, directs the 1st respondent to consider the petitioners’ representations, all dated 07.04.2026, in the light of the orders of this Court as well as the existing Government orders and pass appropriate orders on merits and in accordance with law, within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. https://www.mhc.tn.gov.in/judis
