The petitioner Mrs. Kanika Devi D/o Shri Karan Singh and Mr. Kartik S/o Shri Pratap singh are praying for adequate protection since there is regular threat from the respondent nos. 4 and 5, the parents of petitioner no. 1. Both the petitioners are present and are identified by their counsel. 4. It is submitted that both were in love and now married with each other on 20.04.2026 in Shiv Temple, Laksar, Haridwar; the certificate of marriage ceremony is also enclosed. About age proof, the Aadhar card and High School certificate have been enclosed. He submits that both are major. 5. Learned State counsel submits that if there is any threat to the petitioners the concerned local administration will assess and take appropriate steps and he is not disputing their age but submits that the petitioner no. 2 have not attain the age of marriage. 6. Be that as it may, admittedly both the petitioners are major and now married with each other and whether marriage is void or not this is not the question before this court since they are seeking only protection. 7. In such view of the matter, the writ petition is disposed of finally with the direction to the S.S.P., Haridwar to assess the threat perception, if any, and if he comes to the conclusion that there is any threat, take appropriate steps. 8.
