CRL OP No. 21537 of 2026 __________ Page2 of 5 ORDER This Criminal Original Petition seeks a speedy trial and disposal of the case in CC.No.431 of 2006. 2. Considering the nature of relief, the Learned Government Advocate (Criminal Side) was heard. 3. The following factors are considered : (a) This is a case of the year 2006 and is presently at the stage of trial. (b) There are six witnesses in the case. PW1 to PW4 have already been examined. It is submitted that PW5 has expired and the case is pending at the stage of examination of P.W.6, the complainant. 4. It is further submitted by the learned counsel for the petitioners that the petitioners are residents at Kerala and are facing considerable difficulty in repeatedly attending the hearings. Hence, the learned counsel prays for dispensing with their personal appearance before the trial Court. https://www.mhc.tn.gov.in/judis

5. Considering the hardship pleaded by the petitioners, their personal appearance before the Trial Court is dispensed with, except on such dates as the Trial Court may specifically direct them to appear. However, on every such occasion when their personal appearance is dispensed with, they shall be represented by their counsel and shall extend their fullest co-operation for the expeditious disposal of the case. . 6. Considering all the above circumstances, the petitioners and the prosecution are directed to extend their full co-operation for the early disposal of the case.
The learned Judicial Magistrate - I, Puducherry is requested to expedite the Trial and complete the case as expeditiously as possible, in any event, not later than eight (8) months from the date of receipt of the web-copy of the order. 7.
