Affidavit-of-service filed on behalf of the petitioners is taken on record. 2. Fifteen petitioners have approached this Court with the present writ petition with a common grievance that all were declared ineligible in Physical Measurement Test (PMT) in connection with recruitment to the post of Constable in West Bengal Police, 2024. 3. In PMT height of the petitioners was measured and same was found to be below the prescribed limit. 4. Mr. Basu Mallick, learned advocate representing the petitioners submits that petitioner nos.1, 4, 5 & 6 have preferred appeals questioning measurement of height in PMT and rest of the petitioners have not preferred appeal. It is also submitted that appeals preferred by the petitioner nos.1, 4, 5 & 6 were 2 decided but appellants were not found to be within the range of prescribed height limit. 5. Prayer is made on behalf of the petitioners that opportunity may be given to the petitioners so far other eleven petitioners are concerned to prefer appeal before the concerned authority questioning measurement of height made in PMT. 6. State respondents are represented by Mr. Shahi, learned Additional Government Pleader, who opposes this writ petition and submits that time to prefer appeal has already expired. 7. As the petitioners qualified in written test and participated in PMT, liberty is granted to the petitioners excluding petitioner nos.1, 4, 5 & 6 who have already preferred appeals, to prefer appeal by 48 hours from date before the Appellate Authority questioning measurement of height made in PMT. 8. If appeals are preferred by the petitioners excluding petitioner nos.1, 4, 5 & 6 within the prescribed time, same shall be decided by the concerned authority by taking physical measurement by seven (7) days thereafter. 9. Decision to be taken by the concerned authority within the specified time shall be communicated to 3 the respective petitioners by seven (7) days thereafter. 10. With the aforesaid directions writ petition stands disposed of. 11. Urgent photostat certified copy of the order, if applied for, be given to the parties, upon usual undertakings.
