Sarumathi, seeking permission to close Fixed Deposit TDR No.T20/MTDD/0062435 maintained with Indian Bank, D.B. Jain College Branch, and to utilise the amount for the medical, educational, training and maintenance expenses of S.R. Sarumathi. 2. By order dated 23.02.2024 in O.P.No.59 of 2024, the petitioner was permitted to sell the one-third share of S.R. Sarumathi in the property left by her father and was directed to invest her share of the sale proceeds in a nationalised bank. Accordingly, a sum of Rs.7,00,000/- was deposited under the aforesaid TDR. 3. The petitioner states that she is unemployed and is taking care of S.R. Sarumathi, who requires continuing medical care, education and special training. The petitioner in her additional affidavit has sought transfer of Rs.1,00,000/- every year to the joint Savings Bank Account No.7771309328 maintained in the names of the petitioner and S.R. Sarumathi, with permission to withdraw up to Rs.8,000/- per month towards such expenses. Having regard to the continuing medical, educational, training and maintenance needs of S.R. Sarumathi, the application, as modified by the additional affidavit dated 14.07.2026, is liable to be allowed on the following terms: (i) Indian Bank, D.B. Jain College Branch, is directed to close the fixed deposit and transfer a sum of Rs.1,00,000/- every year to Savings Bank Account No.7771309328 jointly maintained in the names of the petitioner and S.R. Sarumathi. (ii) The petitioner is permitted to withdraw from the said account an amount not exceeding Rs.8,000/- per month exclusively towards the medical, educational, training and maintenance expenses of S.R. Sarumathi.After such annual transfer, the balance amount, together with the accrued interest, shall be redeposited in fixed deposit in the name of S.R. Sarumathi, represented by the petitioner as her guardian. (iii) The above arrangement shall continue every year. 5. The application is allowed accordingly.
