Affidavit of service filed in Court today is taken on record. 2. The petitioner is serving as an Assistant Professor in the Regional Institute of Ophthalmology, Medical College & Hospital. He tendered his resignation on 1st March, 2025. His application seeking resignation is yet to be disposed of. 3. Learned advocate representing the State respondents submits, upon instruction that, currently there is huge scarcity of doctors in the hospitals and it may not be possible to release the petitioner immediately. 4. Be that as it may, as an application by the petitioner is pending consideration at the end of the Director of Medical Education and Ex-Officio Secretary being the respondent no. 2 herein, accordingly, the instant writ petition stands disposed of by directing the respondent no. 2 to consider and dispose of the application made by the petitioner seeking resignation in accordance with law at the Page 2 earliest but positively within a period of eight weeks from the date of communication of this order. The fate of the petitioner’s application shall be made known to him. 5. It is made clear that this Court has not entered into the merits of the prayer of the petitioner and all points are left open to be decided by the aforesaid respondent at the time of consideration of the petitioner’s prayer. 6. Learned advocate for the petitioner submits that his salary for the notice period is due and payable. The authority shall consider the prayer of the petitioner for releasing his admitted dues in accordance with law. 7. The writ petition stands disposed of. 8.
