1. Parties are represented through their respective learned counsels.
2. Learned counsel for the petitioners submits that against the action of digging borewell in an unregulated manner, a mass representation dated 2.1.2026 has been preferred by the local residents before the Commissioner, Durgapur Municipal Corporation. It is submitted that the said authority may be directed to decide the said representation in accordance with law by passing a reasoned order within a stipulated time.

3. Mr. Dey, learned AGP has no objection to this innocuous prayer of the petitioners.
4. Accordingly, this PIL is disposed of by issuing following directions: i) The petitioners shall re-submit the said representation dated 2nd January, 2026 alongwith server copy of this order before the Commissioner, Durgapur Municipal Corporation. ii) The said authority is directed to decide the said representation in accordance with law by a reasoned order within thirty days from the date of re- submission of representation. iii) It will be open to the Commissioner, Durgapur Municipal Corporation to take aid from the concerned geologist.
5. With aforesaid and without expressing any opinion on merit, this PIL is disposed of.
