With the consent of both sides, this writ petition is disposed of at the admission stage. 3. The petitioner herein was initially appointed as a Grade-II Police Constable in Armed Reserve, Madurai District, on 01.03.2002. On completion of ten years of service, the petitioner was upgraded as Grade-I Police Constable on 01.03.2012. Later, on completion of another five years, he was upgraded as Head Constable on 01.03.2017. In the meanwhile, the petitioner was transferred to Armourer Training School at Avadi, Chennai, to undergo the Armourer Basic Course and on completion of the said course, the petitioner was posted duty in Armoury at Madurai from 06.12.2013 and he has been working as such for the past thirteen years. 5. The petitioner claims that he is eligible for promotion to the post of Sub-Inspector in Armoury Wing by considering his seniority in the Armoury Wing and by virtue of the action of the respondents in preparing the Statewide Seniority List for the post of Head Constable, the petitioner would be deprived of his promotion despite of his thirteen years of continuous service in Armoury Wing. In the circumstances, the petitioner claims to have submitted representations dated 26.06.2026 and 04.07.2026 to the fourth respondent and the said representations were forwarded to the second respondent and the petitioner further claims that he has also submitted a representation dated 06.07.2026 directly to the second respondent in view of the urgency involved in the matter. Mr.M.Dinesh Hari Sudarsan, learned counsel for the Government of Tamil Nadu appearing for the respondents, submits that the second respondent would consider the representations submitted by the petitioner, in accordance with law. 7. In the light of the above, without going into the merits of the matter, this writ petition is disposed of by directing the second respondent to consider the representations dated 26.06.2026, 04.07.2026 and 06.07.2026 submitted by the petitioner and take appropriate decision on the said representations, as expeditiously as possible, at any rate, within a period of four weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. No costs.
